Beautiful maternity . . .

August 14, 2011

Today I got to meet Emily, a gorgeous mom to three children, soon to be four (all girls for those inquiring minds).  WOW!  Four girls – what fun!  I can’t wait to meet baby P in just a few short weeks – but until then, here is Emily – is she cute or what?

I met this beautiful mama to be tonight at Sunday Park.  She walked all over the park for me – what a trooper, considering she is due in just a few short weeks!  When we were walking out on the dock this man who had caught a fish told her she could reel it in – we had a good laugh over that!  The funny thing is, the smell of fish kind of makes her gag, but thankfully the little sunfish she reeled in didn’t smell.

Thanks for meeting me tonight – can’t wait to meet baby girl “H”.

Da Bills . . .

August 7, 2011

A long time ago on Saturday Night Live, they had this skit with Chris Farley about “Da Bears.”  Anyone remember that?  Haha – so here are “Da Bills” . . .

When I went home this week to NY I had the awesome opportunity to go to a Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fischer College.  When I was living in Roanoke, people used to laugh out loud when I would tell them I’m a Bills fan.  How could I not be though?  I remember my dad watching them on TV ever since I was a little girl, and I actually started liking them back in the day when they had Thurman, Bruce and Jim playing.  Around that time I was going to school at the University of Buffalo to get my Masters degree, and we used to go out and see the players all the time at different bars.  You always knew where they were because of their fancy cars.  Once I stood right next to Thurman Thomas – he was SO much bigger that I thought he would be!!!!  Also the only Bills game I have ever attended was the game where they had the biggest comeback in NFL history!  So what’s not to love about the Bills?  Who cares if they don’t win very many games, right?  haha – maybe this year . . .

Here are some of my favorite pictures from training camp:

#3 from Virginia Tech -

Tonight I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite photographers – Kathy from KGB Photography in Roanoke.  She was working on a wedding in Richmond and asked me to second shoot for her.  If you don’t know, being a second shooter for a wedding is actually a lot of fun because you don’t quite have the pressure that the main photographer has.   You are there to help and assist, but also get to take your own shots.  When I got to the church, there was an hour to go before the wedding started and Kathy was finishing up with the groomsmen.  I hadn’t met them yet – but as soon as I saw them I *knew* this wedding was going to be a good time.  See what I mean?  This was the first shot of the day for me -

These guys did anything we asked them to do – which sometimes is not typical of groomsmen.  Sometimes they are a little particular – but not this group of guys!

The gorgeous ring . . .

Kate and Matt before the wedding – they weren’t allowed to see each other . . .

Best friends Morgan and Jimmy – these two were hilarious!

This one makes me smile – I was too far away to hear what was so funny but this picture makes me wonder . . .

The gorgeous couple -

When we got to the reception I think these guys were ready to get this party started!

I said “show me some sass” and this was what I got.  I think Matt looks like he’s in pain – haha!

Cute gift – beer huggers!

We had a little twirling going on during their first dance . . .

I’ll end this post with one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen during the mom/groom dance.  They danced to Celine Dion’s “Because you Loved Me” and during the song when she sings “my world is a better place because of you . . . “  Matt did this . . .

Congratulations Kate and Matt! I wish you many, many, many years of happiness!

“C” is 1 . . .

June 17, 2011

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Little Miss “C” to celebrate the fact that she recently turned 1.  She came to my studio a few months ago in what turned out to be one of my favorite sessions ever!  You can see that session here   http://www.imagesbysusielynn.com/blog/%20/little-miss-c/

You can see that she is excited about being one . . .

Her sweet grandmother came all the way from Washington State to visit with her -

“C” is just learning to walk so we had some fun with that . . .

More to come later on sweet “C”.

And you know what that means, don’t you?  Well, really it means nothing but I’m feeling happy so let’s have some fun!  This is for all my facebook fans who I appreciate so much!  The first person to leave a comment on this blog post on facebook will win one free digital image at high resolution from their recent session to be emailed to them.  Ok?  So  – what are you waiting for – head back to Facebook . .

And, every post needs a picture so here ya go – cutie pie Molly.

Love this series!

Ben and Sarah met in high school and are getting married soon so we met up for an engagement shoot.  They were sweet enough to let me try any type shot I wanted to – what fun!
